During its Journey of 52 Years, Nandikar has realized very many dreams. Yet a gnawing anxiety engulfs us.
Holed in a ‘perpetual present’ deafened by cacophonous gospel of mammon we jostle in a rootless synthetic carnival. And as the adult world gets more adulterated by day our children’s right to ‘pure aliveness’ is increasingly challenged:
Today we feel more than ever challenged to offer wings to our children, enable them to fly!
This day we pray for a terror-free community, a guarantee of basic needs, a less unequal future!
Today though the global entertainment worth $ 1.80 trillion has no space for Literature or dear old Theatre.
This day with your blessings we vow to create a theatre that would give voice to the voiceless, defence for the defenceless, bring joy to the joyless!
This day wizened though by dust & sweat & penury of 50 odd years our desire for a brighter morrow is alive!
